CarCutter gives you a visual merchandising platform. Autopix gives you finished car photos, ready for your Nordic dealer systems.

Both help dealerships produce professional vehicle imagery, but they solve different problems.

CarCutter offers AI-edited photos, 360 spins, generated video, hotspots, and central management tools for large dealer groups.

Autopix focuses on one essential job: getting consistent, professionally edited car photos into your listings, with per-car pricing you can read before you call anyone and a human quality check on the cars that warrant one.

Autopix starts at 89 kr per car. You can test it with three free orders before committing.

I run Autopix, so this is not a neutral review. Every product and pricing statement below comes from each company's own published pages, checked on 30 October 2026, and the test at the end lets you check both products on your own stock before you take either company's word for it.

The short answer: if you need 360 spins, video and centralised merchandising, consider CarCutter. If you need finished photos delivered into the systems Nordic dealers already use, start with Autopix.

The real question: what happens after you take the photo?

Imagine a busy dealership on a Monday morning.

New cars have arrived. Your salespeople need photos. Your inventory needs to reach Finn, Bytbil, or Wayke by the afternoon. And the person taking pictures is also helping customers, moving vehicles, and answering the phone.

Taking the photo is only the first step. Someone still has to make sure it looks professional, meets your standards, and reaches the system that publishes the listing.

That complete workflow is where the two products differ, and it is the workflow, not the editing screen, that costs a dealership time.

CarCutter: a platform for richer vehicle listings

CarCutter is built for dealer groups that want more than still photography.

Its product list reads like a vehicle detail page: AI backgrounding with a library of 20+ virtual showrooms, Next Gen 360 spins generated from four photos, CarCutter Motion video generated from eight images, interactive hotspots that let a shopper click on a scratch or a feature, OEM photography templates in the capture app, and the CarCutter Hub for managing images across every rooftop.

The client logos on its site- AutoNation, Koons, Flow, Ourisman- are large American groups, and the integrations are American inventory systems.

If video, 360 spins, or interactive vehicle details are essential to your merchandising strategy, CarCutter offers functionality that Autopix does not, and I would rather say so here than after a trial.

Autopix: finished photos without the extra workflow

Autopix is built for dealerships that need professional still images and a short path to publication.

Your team follows a guided photo sequence in the Autopix app, the images are edited, and the finished files move into Billink, Carweb, Drive or Wayke.

You choose the level of service for each car.

Express, from 89 kr per car, is automatic editing with finished results in minutes.

Plus, from 149 kr per car, adds professional retouching, branded plate replacement and a trained editor checking every image, with standard delivery the next business day.

Use Express for routine stock. Choose Plus when an important listing warrants a human look. You pay for the level of service you need, car by car.

A group that wants to see output before committing can run three free test orders on its own cars today, with no demo call in front of them.

Capture: both guide the shot

The problem that undoes most dealer photography is not the camera. It is six people shooting six different ways. Both apps solve it, in slightly different shapes.

Autopix uses a Photo Guide that sets the position and sequence of every shot, and a bounding box that refines the angle of the car in the frame.

Custom photo guides, where a group writes its own sequence, angles, and required images into the app, are available on request on both tiers. If source photos already exist, they can be uploaded through the web platform instead.

CarCutter's capture app goes further on structure. It carries a shot list that tracks which vehicles still need imagery across rooftops, a predefined sequence, built-in OEM guideline templates for brand compliance, a status tracker, VIN scanning, and offline capture.

For a group selling several franchises under OEM imaging rules, that is a real advantage.

Where the two meet again is the practical point. Neither app can recover the angle nobody shot.

Guided capture is worth more than any editing feature because it fixes the problem before the file exists, which is why the camera settings guide is still the article dealers come back to most.

Editing: two different answers to the car the AI gets wrong

Both products are automatic by default. Most inventory photos never need a person.

The question is what happens to the exceptions: the black car under sodium lights, the chrome grille, the wet forecourt in the wing mirror.

CarCutter describes a quality assurance chain. AI models trained on its own dealer imagery, a published claim that they catch 99 percent of issues automatically, and human-in-the-loop reviewers who step in on rare issues.

Human review is built into the pipeline rather than offered as something you buy per vehicle. One client quote on its site puts it plainly: accurate and consistent, stronger again with human QA added.

Autopix splits the same idea into two prices. Express is fully automated and returns in minutes. Plus, at 60 kr more per car, routes every image to a trained editor who checks colour accuracy, composition and consistency before delivery.

The practical difference for a group is control. On Autopix, the choice is per car, not per contract. Routine stock goes through Express; the flagship on the front page goes through Plus.

Nobody buys the higher tier for the whole year to cover a handful of vehicles, and the background remover test shows the five places automated editing fails, so you know which cars to route.

Both companies draw the same line on the vehicle itself. CarCutter promises imagery true to the actual car with no over-editing; Autopix does not remove or disguise defects on the bodywork.

Background replacement changes the presentation, never the product being advertised.

Why Nordic integrations matter more than processing speed

A photo that has finished processing is not necessarily ready for your customer to see.

If someone must download the files, rename them, upload them into another system, and check the results, the job is not finished.

Autopix integrates with Billink, Carweb, Drive and Wayke. Finished images move into the dealer platform or marketplace feed without a manual transfer step, and the integrations overview shows the full set.

CarCutter publishes integrations with systems such as HomeNet, vAuto and Dealer Center, alongside an API and delivery to cloud storage. Those are valuable capabilities for dealerships operating in US inventory environments. None of those systems runs a Norwegian or Swedish forecourt.

A group with developers can use either API. For everyone else, the question is simple:

Before choosing any photo solution, ask one thing: does it deliver finished images into the system we actually use?

If the answer is CarCutter's IMS list, choose CarCutter. If the answer is Billink or Wayke, the decision is already made.

How much does Autopix cost compared with CarCutter?

CarCutter does not publish standard pricing. Every call to action on its site, including "Try for free", leads to the demo booking form, and the quote follows the demo. That is normal for platform software sold to groups with procurement teams, and a large buyer will negotiate a volume rate that no public list could show anyway.

Autopix publishes per-car prices.

Autopix per-car pricing by number of images, Express and Plus
Images per carAutopix ExpressAutopix Plus
Up to 1089 kr149 kr
Up to 20139 kr199 kr
Up to 60189 kr249 kr

Prices exclude VAT and are billed monthly. An integration costs 199 kr per month, extended storage is 69 or 249 kr per month, and larger groups can ask about volume pricing.

With Autopix, you can estimate photography costs before a sales conversation.

One hundred cars on Express at up to 10 images each is 8,900 kr in per-car charges, excluding VAT, integrations and add-ons, and the independent dealer pricing guide walks through monthly examples.

Whether Autopix or CarCutter is less expensive overall cannot be established without a CarCutter quote. The useful distinction is published per-car pricing versus negotiated platform pricing.

Unlimited users with no per-seat fees matters more at group scale than it sounds: adding a site or a new salesperson is an account action, not a licence negotiation.

Which product should your dealership choose?

Choose CarCutter if

You manage a large group with complex merchandising requirements. Your listings need 360 spins, video and interactive content. Centralised tools and OEM photography templates are priorities, your inventory sits in one of the IMS platforms it integrates with, and you are comfortable with a demo-led purchasing process.

Choose Autopix if

You operate dealerships in Norway, Sweden or Denmark. Your priority is professional still photography, consistent results across locations, and integration with the Nordic dealer systems you already use. You want predictable per-car prices, unlimited users without per-seat charges, and the option of human review on selected vehicles.

Most of all, you want to test real results before committing.

Do not compare demos. Compare your own cars

A polished demonstration shows what a product can do under favourable conditions.

Your dealership needs to know what happens on an ordinary working day.

Here is a practical way to evaluate both options.

Choose a difficult vehicle

Use a car with dark paint, reflections, chrome, complicated wheels, or an untidy background. A silver hatchback in soft light flatters every tool and tells you nothing.

Ask a regular team member to photograph it

Not your best photographer. The point of guided capture is to make the person who dislikes photography produce the same set as the person who enjoys it.

Give both apps to that person and see which sequence they actually finish.

Inspect the finished images at full size

Check the paint colour, mirrors, wheels, windows, reflections and background edges, the five places automated editing fails. Make sure any existing vehicle defects remain accurately represented, and keep the position on labelling retouched photos in mind.

Compare against full-size example output if you want a reference first.

Check the publishing workflow

How many manual steps remain before the images appear in your listing system? Count them. Each one is repeated on every car you sell.

Measure the whole job

Start the clock beside the vehicle. Stop when the finished photos are where your listings need them. That is a more useful comparison than image processing speed alone.

Where to start

Buy CarCutter if you need a full visual merchandising platform. Choose Autopix if you need consistent, finished listing photos that fit your Nordic dealer workflow, with published prices and optional human quality checks.

Before you evaluate either, write down what a finished listing needs: which outputs, which systems, which cars get a human look.

If spins and video are on that list, book the CarCutter demo. If the list is consistent photos, Nordic integrations, and a price you can plan with, run the Autopix pilot first.

It costs nothing and needs no meeting.

Autopix offers three free test orders so you can evaluate real photos from your own dealership. Test the capture process. Inspect the results. Check how the images fit into your workflow. Then decide.

The best comparison is the one you run on your own cars.
